Prayer Conditions our Character

Healing come through prayers for broken hearts and for physical needs, in many ways.

Today let us touch heaven with our prayers.  There will always be a need to pray for our family and friends, and for those who ask for our prayers.

God is a spirit. Those who connect with him receive spiritual characteristic traits he possess; loving and caring.

Prayer produces happiness, kindness, peacefulness, hopefulness, gentleness, trustworthy, and the things God requires from each of us.

God’s Desires for Us are Complete Happiness, Good health and Prosperity.

Biblical:
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper, and be in health even as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

Blessings from God

If evil people know how to give good gifts to their children, how much
more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
(Matthew 7:11)

A Delayed Answer to a Prayer Request

Delayed answers from God means the person making
the request must keep asking until the answer is granted.
Biblical teaching:

For everyone that ask receive, and he that seek find, and to
him that knock, it shall be opened.  (Matthew 7:8)
Note the words seek and knock: they indicate, the person
making the request should never give up.

Guarantee: God is able to back every promise he make.
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man,
that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it?
Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
 (Numbers 23:19)

We Communicate with God through Prayer

Continuous prayers to God strengthen our relationship with him.
God gives knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to those who
have a relationship with him.  Therefore, their minds are competent.
Their judgments are right.  And he provides them with protection.
Biblical:

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory:
No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11)

God Give Power to Create Wealth

Knowledge = Power
We receive from God our educational skills and talents.

Biblical

Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth
and has given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion,
and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.
(Ecclesiastes 5:19)

Faith in God = Confidence + Persistence, Produce Positive Results

Ellen J. Barrier/

When David informed King Saul, that he would fight the giant,Goliath, who was an experienced man of war, and David was a child, who had no war experience of any kind- he and all the people, thought David was being overconfident, and couldn't possibly win.

Excerpts from the Book of Samuel:

And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him (Goliath); thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock. And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him and slew him.

Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear. And this uncircumcised Philistine, shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

Faith and Confidence in Action:

David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.
(David killed Goliath with his own sword, after he had fallen from the force of the stone in the sling that David hit him with.)

Therefore, David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith, And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

Persistence

After David had knocked Goliath, down onto the ground, he didn’t waste any time boasting - but finished the goal that he had set his mind to accomplish. This is the same formula that we all have to use in order to accomplish the very tough obstacles in our lives; in the class room preparing for our future, careers, and jobs, or whatever our goals may be. We can’t listen to negative advice. We have to look to the one who has the power to help us accomplish our goals. And believe in ourselves, and never stop improving. We have to continue to fight the battles until they are defeated regardless, of what they may be. For some it is poor health, or financial difficulties. And for others, it is threatening situations in their lives, that involves other issues.

David thought about all of the times God was with him and spared his life. Each day we awaken, God has protected us. Each of us has things we can draw spiritual strength from. Many people are convinced as David was in his youthful years, that having God in their lives is awesome! I totally agree.

A Place Called Hell

Ellen J. Barrier/
Author/Spirituality Counselor

For those who ask "Is There such a place called Hell?" I have noted scriptures from the bible that I hope will answer this question,  along with another question that is asked, "Why would God send people to Hell?"

Based on the writers description of a place called, "Hell" that is talked about in biblical terms, I have noted those things in this book, from the information I have read. Hell is not a subject, that most people feel comfortable talking about. No one ever says it is a place they want to see. Because the thought of Hell, and the description of it is a very horrible place where - those who have been condemned and sentenced by God, will spend eternity.

Scriptures:
"Hell" also, called the "Pit"

I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Hell with them that descend into the pit:

They also went down into Hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
 Ezekel 31:16:17 {K.J.V)

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these:

Adultery,  fornication,  uncleanness,  lasciviousness,  idolatry,  witchcraft,  hatred,  variance,  emulations, wrath,  strife,  seditions,  heresies,  envyings,  murders,  drunkenness,  revellings,  and such like.

They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
 Galatians 5: 19-22 (K.J.V)

The Difference Between God and Religion

Ellen J. Barrier/Author/Spirituality Counselor

The difference between God and religion, is no comparison. God judges the human race according to his laws. He has the authority to carryout punishment in his judgment as to how, and when such punishment should occur.

Being religious, and taking upon one’s self to judge another individual or to punish such an individual for having committed an act that he or she feels is unrighteous, does not qualify judgment. No one is sinless.  Therefore, no human being, will ever qualify to take the position of God to punish another human being for their sins. Regardless, of how they may view the act that was committed.

God, has not given up his position nor his authority to hand down punishment upon those who reject his laws. One cannot take another individual’s life in the name of “Doing God’s Will”  while professing themselves to uphold God’s laws.

“Thou Shall Not Kill” means exactly what it says.
(God’s Law stated  in Exodus 20:13)

We are held accountable by God, for the words we speak and for the acts we commit. Words and actions do matter. Negative words and lies used to attack an individual’s character, produce harmful affects. They can destroy an individual’s character, and cause the loss of lives. They can also, cause the innocent to be imprisoned for a crime they didn’t commit.

“The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speak forwardness.”
King Solomon
(Proverbs 10:32)

* Forwardness-not willing to comply with what is right or reasonable.

Some religious people, are behaving shamefully. They are scornful, judgmental, and filled with hate. The words we use when communicating with others or when they are used in reference to another individual, describes our character. Our own words and actions speaks volumes of who we are. And clearly identifies a connection to God,  or a disconnection from him.

In the book of Psalm, King David , identifies the character of  both the connected individual, and the disconnected individual to God. He refers to their characteristics as ‘fruit.’ In the book of Galatians,
Paul also gives a description as "The fruit of the spirit."

The Character Of  the Connected Individual to God:
Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is  love,   joy,   peace,   longsuffering,   gentleness,   goodness,
faith,   meekness,   temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22)

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man (person) that walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law does he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bring forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not  wither, and whatsoever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

The Character Of the Disconnected Individual from God:
Galatians 5:19

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these:
Adultery,  fornication,  uncleanness,  lasciviousness,  idolatry,  witchcraft, hatred,  variance,  emulations.  Wrath,  strife,  seditions,  heresies,  envying,   murders,
drunkenness,  revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told
you in time past, that they which do such things shell not inherit the kingdom of God.

Conclusion:

Does one need to be religious to be successful or to have hope and to live?
The answer is  No.

From my very own personal experience - with testimonies of others, to be connected to God is awesome!
He provides greater opportunities with  hope.

Rewards:
Therefore, we rejoice in hope; patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer. Knowing that tribulations, produces patience, and patience, produces experience, and experience,  produces hope. Success and great achievements are additional accomplishments provided with hope.

What Causes A Nation To Fail?

Ellen J. Barrier/Author/Spirituality Counselor

We are all held accountable for the things we teach. There is a danger to those who aren't teaching by example - and who aren't following God's instructions for delivering his message to the people.

Scriptures:
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (Ezekiel 3:18)
Yet, if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. (Ezekiel 3:19)

                                                     Failed Leadership
Failed leadership is the direct cause, of a nation to fail. To address failed leadership, one must look at the  organizations and the government. Many of those in religious organizations, have been found guilty of wrongdoings. Those who were in positions to teach God's laws, broke them:  Ministers and Priests accused of misconduct, corruption in governmental leaders, corruption in the Justice system, injustice in the courtroom, judges, lawyers and police officers, breaking the laws that they expect others to abide by.

A lack of proper parental guidance, has been a direct cause for crimes commited in high volumes, by some very young people. Some teachers, have conducted themeselves inappropriately with students, and some have done a very poor job teaching.

The Economy:
The economy worldwide, has been affected. There were signs coming, that were noticeable. Some in the media, were asking questions to economists -  their answers were conflicting. We are faced with the failure of many nations. Therefore, our economical problems are very great.

Scriptures:
Deuteronomy 5:29
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!

Ezekiel 16:43
Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but has fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God:
And thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

Deuteronomy 32:21-23
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

 War & weather:
(droughts, violent storms, floods, mass destructions, animal attacks, land/sea)

Affect on Food Supply;  Health & Safety:

They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. (Deuteronomy 32:24,25)

When we look closely at the scriptures, and consider the things that are happening in our society and worldwide; there are wars that takes the lives of many soldiers. And there is another war within our own country, in our neighborhoods and on our streets. There are many living in poverty and are homeless.
